THE PROJECT
Currently, the majority of cannabis being consumed has been bought at government regulated storefronts. While this is a convenient method of obtaining cannabis it presents challenges to many individuals. For individuals using cannabis medicinally, it can often be expensive to buy the quanity and quality of the products they require. There is also an environmental impact that commerical cannabis has. Flower is often packaged in larger plastic containers that are often discarded immediately after use. By providing consumers with their own method of growing cannabis at home it relieves both these concerns.
We wanted to make our product accessible to the masses, not just those with previous agricultural experience. To acheive this, Grow.op's flasgship product, the Grow Master 9001, utilizes a hydroponic growing medium to elimate the mess associated with soil, as well as providing a fully autonomous growing system that the user can adjust via our responsive web application.

THE PROGRESS
Germinating the Seed
Jan. 28, 2022
Today was the day that our plant was born. A seed being germinated is the process of which the hard shell is broken, and the seed becomes to form a sprout that can be planted in the hydroponic setup. We achieve this by placing the seed in water saturated paper towel, this signals the seed to start growing slowly. The purpose of this is to get the grow started to make sure the seed is of good quality and will sustain growth when subjected to stress. This process takes around 5-7 days and when it is complete the now small plant can be placed into the growing environment. As pictured, this is the seed with a small sprout being formed. Our team looks forward to watching the seed grow into a beautiful cannabis plant.
